Comment
Originally the coin was from the Miranda Mint. However, in 1369 the king of Castile, Henry II, advances on Miranda and its population flees to Zamora (Ç). Among these were the coin makers with their Miranda dies. When they arrived in Zamora, they simply added the letter Ç (Zamora) under the castle.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted during a time of great turmoil in Portugal. The country was facing political instability and economic difficulties, and the minting of this coin was likely a response to the need for a stable currency. Despite these challenges, the coin still features a beautiful design and is a valuable piece of numismatic history.
