Comment
The St Rupert Cathedral of Salzburg was finished in 1628 on the site of the former church. The relicts of St Rupert were then transfered.The same design was produced from 1/4 Thaler to 20 gold Ducat.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted to commemorate the consecration of Paris von Lodron as the Bishop of Salzburg in 1628. The coin features an image of von Lodron on one side and the coat of arms of the Bishopric of Salzburg on the other. It was made of silver and weighs 14.55 grams.
