Interesting fact
The ½ Thaler coin from the Kingdom of Bohemia, minted during the reign of Maximilian II (1573-1576), is interesting because it was one of the first coins to use the Joachimsthaler silver standard, which was a new standard of silver purity that was introduced during that time. The Joachimsthaler standard specified that the coin should contain 1/12th of a Cologne mark (233.25 grams) of fine silver, which was a higher standard than the previous standard used in the region. This made the ½ Thaler coin one of the most valuable coins in circulation at the time, and it was widely used for trade and commerce.
