Interesting fact
The August II Mocny (Drezno) 1698-1730 ½ Talara coin from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was made of silver, but it was also one of the first coins to use a unique feature called "split dies." This means that the dies used to stamp the coin were cut in half and then rejoined, creating a distinctive "split" effect on the coin's design. This technique was used to prevent counterfeiting and increase the coin's security.
