Comment
Some references define this as a 1/10 Stater and some others as 1/12 Stater. If we accept that there was a local cypriot weight standard for gold coinage, then this should be a 1/10 Stater.

Interesting fact
The ⅒ Stater coin of Nikokles (374 BC - 361 BC) from Salamis of Cyprus is significant because it features the first known portrait of a Cypriot king on a coin. The obverse side of the coin depicts a bearded king facing right, wearing a crown and earring, while the reverse side shows a lion's head with a small symbol above it. This coinage was issued during Nikokles' reign, who was a powerful king of Cyprus and played a significant role in the island's transition from a Persian satrapy to an independent kingdom. The coin's design and the use of gold as the material reflect the wealth and power of the Cypriot kingdom during that time.
