Nandigupta was one of the rulers of Ancient Kashmir, who reigned for just around 2 years after ascending the throne and before that who ruled through the regent ship of his grandmother Queen Diddarani, who later deposed him from the throne. His rule was from AD973-975(not sure about date as some other sources specify end of reign at 973AD).Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique blend of Indian and Greek influences in its design. The coin's obverse side features a depiction of King Nandigupta, while the reverse side features a representation of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi, along with a Greek-style legend. This fusion of cultural influences reflects the rich cultural exchange that occurred during the Utpala Dynasty's rule in Kashmir.
