Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features an early example of a portrait on a coin. The obverse side of the coin bears the image of a bearded man, believed to be a representation of the Carian satrap (governor) who issued the coin. This is significant because it shows that coins were already being used as a means of propaganda and political messaging over 2,500 years ago.
