Interesting fact
The ½ Speciedaler coin from Norway, issued during the reign of Christian V in 1693, features an interesting design element - a small hole in the center of the coin. This hole was intentionally drilled during the manufacturing process and served as a way to test the coin's authenticity. The hole was meant to ensure that the coin was made of pure silver, as silver was a valuable and sought-after metal at the time. The presence of the hole in the coin provided a quick and easy way to verify its authenticity, making it a unique and interesting feature of this particular coin.
