The new Berlin type portrait was introduced in 1764 (1765 for the Berlin and Cleves mint mark) by the general director of the Prussian currency and put an end to the individual portraits at each mint mark.
The Berlin type is characterized by a juvenile portrait whose laurel wreath is less conspicuous. With a long neck, the portrait whose front, seemingly chopped off, is curved downwards.

Different example of face value:
No variants of the legend are known, with the legend on the right sometimes ending with a point. The position of the letters may vary, and the position of the mint mark also changes and can split the year in some cases. The slice is smooth until 1778, with the 1780 and 1788 years split.
The SCWC and NGC are not a reliable source for this type, which induces confusion between the old portrait and the Berlin type.
