Interesting fact
Did you know that the use of aluminum in coins was quite rare in the 19th century, and the Pattern ¼ Real (Trial) 1872 from Honduras is one of the few examples of a coin made of this metal during that time? The reason for this rarity is that aluminum was still a relatively new and expensive material at the time, and it wasn't until later in the 20th century that it became more widely used in coinage.
