Comment
These coins with this seal are known in Mexico as:"Águila de perfil" : "Profile eagle"
But in the World collector's community they are also predominately known as "Hook-neck snake" due to the coil the snake has near the eagle's beak.
Both are valid as they are nicknames rather than official names which would only be the face value of the coin itself.
Interesting fact
The 1824 Mexican ½ Real coin features a unique design element - the eagle on the obverse (front) side is depicted in a profile view, rather than the traditional full-face view. This design change was implemented to distinguish the coin from other similar coins in circulation at the time.
