One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted during the reign of King Ferdinand II of Aragon and Queen Elizabeth I of Castile, who ruled jointly as co-monarchs of Spain from 1497 until their deaths in 1566. This coin was minted in the city of Burgos and features the effigies of both monarchs on its obverse side.
