Comment

Real Coinage was between 1844 - 1877 (8 real = 1 peso). Only 1/4 Real in Bronze (KM#1) & Brass (KM#2)was issued by Dominica Republic. No Real or Peso coins were released during this period.

Hence a different category has to be in place & not to be clubbed under Peso coinage

With decimalization - Peso was introduced in 1877; Centavos coins were minted & issued between 1877-1888/1891. Again no Peso coins were issued.

Only after Reform Decimal coinage came into effect in 1897 Peso coins were introduced along with Centavo coins

Interesting fact

The ¼ Real coin from the Dominican Republic, issued in 1844, is interesting because it was one of the first coins to feature the national emblem of the country, which includes a shield with the flag's colors and a crown, symbolizing the nation's independence and sovereignty.
