Interesting fact
The 1996 South African Constitution Protea non-circulating coin was designed by famous South African sculptor and coin designer, Coert Steynberg. Steynberg's design features a stunning representation of the Protea, the national flower of South Africa, surrounded by the words "South African Constitution" in English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa, and isiZulu. The coin's obverse side features the coat of arms of South Africa. This coin is considered a rare and valuable collector's item, with only 2,000 minted.
