Information:- Dar Al-Hilal was founded in 1892 by Jurji Zaydan, a journalist from Beirut who had come to Egypt in the 1880s. The first issue of the monthly was published in September 1892. After Jurji Zaydan's death the journal was edited by his sons, Emile and Shukri Zaydan.
- Abbas Al-Aqqad (28 June 1889 – 12 March 1964) was an Egyptian journalist, poet and literary critic, and member of the Academy of the Arabic Language in Cairo. He is most famous for his "The geniuses" series [العبقريات - Abqarīyat].
- Originally mintage was 600, however 372 were melted leaving the current mintage to 228. Ref MHC.
