Interesting fact
The ¼ Piastre coin was the lowest denomination coin in circulation during the British colonial period in Cyprus, and it features a portrait of King George V on one side and an image of a crowned shield with the Cyprus coat of arms on the other. Despite its small value, the coin was made of a durable bronze alloy, which has helped many examples survive to this day in good condition.
