Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Token ½ Penny from Nova Scotia is that it was used as a form of currency during a time when there was a shortage of official currency in the province. The coin was issued by a wholesale and retail hardware store, and it was accepted as legal tender by many merchants in the area. This highlights the resourcefulness and resilience of the people of Nova Scotia during a time of economic challenge.
