The 1982 People's Republic of China ½ Ounce Gold Panda coin is a unique and sought-after collector's item. One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a rare design error. The coin's obverse side displays the image of a panda bear, while the reverse side features the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. However, the designers accidentally engraved the panda's fur with a repeating pattern of the number "2" instead of the correct number "1".
