Comment
As governor of Gilan (capital at Rasht), Hedayat Allah recognized as overlord and struck coins in the name of Ali Murad Khan Zand until AH1199, then attempted independence, possibly with Russian assistance, in AH1199-1200, but was defeated in 1200 by the Qajars, captured and killed soon afterward. Qajar coins of Agha Muhammad Khan commenced at Rasht in 1201.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued during a time of political turmoil in Iran, specifically during the Zand Rebellion, which was a period of instability and conflict that lasted from 1786 to 1794. Despite this, the coin still maintains a high level of craftsmanship and beauty, with intricate designs and calligraphy that reflect the cultural and artistic traditions of the time.
