Minted in the name of Pratap Singh Shah, King of Nepal, and Queen Rajendra Lakshmi. Pratap Singh Shah was the second King of Nepal. He was the eldest son of Prithvi Narayan Shah, the king who started the unification of Nepal. He became King at the age of 24 in 1775. Pratap Singh Shah ruled only up to 1777 for 36 months, and died of smallpox at the age of 26. He was succeeded by his two-year-old son Rana Bahadur Shah.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the ¼ Mohar coin from Nepal is that it was issued during the reign of Pratap Singh Shah, who was the king of the Shah dynasty that ruled Nepal from 1696 to 1699 (1774-1777). This coin was made of silver and weighed 1.40 grams, which was a significant weight for a coin of its size and denomination during that time period.
