Comment
While the exact date of this 1/8 Mohar is unknown, it is known that it was minted in Nepal within the period of 8 March 1799 to 20 November 1816. This period is known as the Shah dynasty, and the ruling authority of the time was King Girvan Yuddha Bikram. A condensed history of this period and king can be read on Wikipedia at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girvan_Yuddha_Bikram_ShahThis 1/8 Mohar (1799 - 1816) is very rare. While it is relatively easy to obtain auction records and references for other Nepalese 1/8 Mohar coins (cf. 1/8 Mohar - Surendra Vikrama) it is comparatively harder to source such records and information for 1/8 Mohar coins struck during the Shah dynasty.
The example of a 1/8 Mohar - Girvan Yuddha Bikram illustrated in the photos of this Numista catalogue page is particularly fine. These tiny gold coins are frequently found with significant rim damage, so to obtain an example in the condition illustrated is difficult. An example of the nature of damage typically observed in this series is presented below in pictures sourced from Heritage Auctions.
