Comment
This coin is considered rare. Can easily be confused with A#2570 if a detail is blundered or missing. Is also easily confused with ¼ ashrafi, and in fact, has previously misattributed as a ¼ ashrafi.
This coin was only minted in 929 AH, though similar ones (see link) were minted in 930 AH but under the name of Shah Tahmasp I in Nimruz and Shiraz.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued during the reign of Ismail I Safavi, who was the founder of the Safavid dynasty and is considered one of the most important figures in Iranian history. The coin features an inscription in Persian that reads "Al-Sultan al-Azam Shah Ismail al-Thani" (The Greatest King, Shah Ismail the Second), indicating that it was minted during his reign. This coin is a rare and valuable example of early Safavid coinage and is highly sought after by collectors.
