Kingdom of LanchangType with chakra stamps to either side of elephant
Interesting fact
The ¼ Lat coin from the Kingdom of Lan Xang (Laos) was made of copper and had a unique square shape with rounded corners. This design was used for the first time in the kingdom's history and was a departure from the traditional round shape of coins. This square shape was chosen to symbolize the four directions and the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. The coin's design also featured the kingdom's emblem, a mythical creature called the "Kaidao," which was a symbol of power and strength.
