Interesting fact
The ½ Kreuzer coin from Duchy of Saxe-Hildburghausen, minted in 1823 during the reign of Frederick I, features an error in its design. The coin was meant to have a portrait of Frederick I on one side and the coat of arms of Saxe-Hildburghausen on the other. However, due to a mistake by the engraver, the portrait of Frederick I was accidentally mirrored, resulting in a reverse image of the king's face. This error was not corrected, and the coins were still released into circulation. As a result, the ½ Kreuzer coin from Duchy of Saxe-Hildburghausen has become a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists, with some rare specimens selling for thousands of dollars.
