Interesting fact
The obverse (front) side of the coin features the image of a horseman riding left, while the reverse (back) side features a grapevine with leaves and a small ornament above. This design is unique to the coins of Kotys II and is not found on other coins of the Odryssian kingdom. It's believed that the horseman represents the king himself, who was known for his military campaigns and conquests. The grapevine on the reverse side may symbolize the fertility and prosperity of the kingdom.
