Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern ½ Dollar (Pattern) 1889 from Liberia made of Bronze is that it features a unique design that was never adopted as an official coinage design for the country. The obverse of the coin depicts a liberty head, while the reverse shows an eagle and a shield with the words "Liberia" and "Half Dollar" inscribed above and below. This design was created by the United States Mint in Philadelphia as a pattern for a potential coinage system for Liberia, but it was ultimately rejected in favor of a different design. As a result, this coin is considered a rare and collectible item among numismatists.
