Interesting fact

The Barber Quarter, designed by Charles E. Barber, was produced from 1892 to 1916 and features a portrait of Lady Liberty on the obverse (front) side, while the reverse (back) side showcases an eagle with outstretched wings and a shield. One interesting fact about this coin is that it was the first US coin to feature a portrait of a real person. Lady Liberty's design was inspired by a real woman named Emma Lazarus, who was a poet and activist. Her portrait on the coin was meant to symbolize the idea of American freedom and opportunity.
