Saint Martin is the patron of the main church of Weert.  

Another version of this half daalder, but with arms of both Montmorency and Hoorn was also made (see link).

The St. Martinusdaalder coin features an image of Philip of Montmorency, also known as Philip de Montmorency, a Dutch nobleman who was beheaded in 1568 for his involvement in the Dutch Revolt against Spanish rule.
