Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1948-1952 George VI ½ Crown coin from Zimbabwe (then known as Southern Rhodesia) is that it was the first coin to feature the image of King George VI, who had recently succeeded his brother Edward VIII who abdicated the throne. This coin was also unique in that it was the only coin to bear the inscription "Southern Rhodesia" on its obverse, as the country's name was changed to Rhodesia in 1953.
