Interesting fact

The ¼ Centavo coin was part of a decimal system of currency introduced in Costa Rica in 1865, which replaced the previous system based on the Spanish colonial real. The coin was made of copper and had a value of ¼ of a centavo, or 0.025 Costa Rican colones. Despite its small value, the coin was an important part of everyday transactions in Costa Rica during that time.
