CNI placed this coin earlier, in the late 13th century, but more recent scholarship (Crippa; MEC) places it during the joint lordship of Luchino and Gian Visconti in the 1340s.

The ambrosino was valued at 32 soldi during the previous reign (Azzone), so this rate has been used here as well.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features the image of two co-ruling dukes, Luchino and John Visconti, on opposite sides of the coin. This unique design reflects the political situation of the time, where the two brothers shared power in the Duchy of Milan.
